Masaba (24), the daughter of West Indies’ cricket legend Vivian Richards and actress Neena Gupta, is obviously excited about the project.

“I will be designing the jerseys and gear for six teams for the first ever women's IPL to be held in Singapore. Our first step into sportswear,” tweeted Masaba, who was also appointed fashion director of luxury brand Satya Paul, and has emerged as one of the most promising new-age designers.

“Bringing Masaba in to design women’s playing and training apparel seemed perfect as we were looking to create an identity through design and packaging of the sport,” said Shaun Martyn, director of WICL, proposed to be held in Singapore later this year.
