"We got best film, best direction and best debut awards for my first film 'Maine Pyar Kiya'. That was in 1990 and I was young and new in this industry," Barjatya said at the BIG Star Entertainment Awards 2015.

"Today's young directors are very talented and I would like to say 'Make more and better movies, but give emphasis on family values for the next generation'," he added.

His latest family drama 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' bagged four awards at the BIG Star Entertainment Awards 2015, which was held here on Sunday.

The film's lead actress Sonam Kapoor got the BIG Star Most Entertaining Actor - Female in a Romantic role. The film also bagged an award for the BIG Star Most Entertaining Romantic Film Of The Year.

Singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya walked away with the BIG Star Most Entertaining Music award for the Salman Khan-starrer. Singer Palak Muchhal received an award for BIG Star Most Entertaining Singer (Female) for the same film that tells a royal tale.
