From Mumbai's iconic film hub, Mehboob Studios, to the beautiful shores of Cavelossim in Goa, music platform Live From the Console is heading out of the city for the first time, donning the avatar of a two-day festival, with a bigger and better line-up
It’s time for lovers of Independent music to head to Goa. Live From the Console @ Rowson’s Reserve Smooth Spaces (LFTC@RRSS), a music event, which supports emerging Alternative and Independent music acts in the country is all set to host it’s first-ever Goa edition from December 29.
Starting off as a monthly musical event that provides emerging music bands an alternative platform to showcase talent and for music fans to discover new music, it soon became a twice-monthly Saturday night edition and now it is travelling to South Goa to showcase the artists/ bands to music fans across India through a two-day festival.

“We’ve been planning to do an annual feature for some time now, so this has been on the cards. We decided on Goa, finally because it is open to a lot of people at this time of the year. Everyone is in party mode. Hence, having a music festival at this time made sense,” reasons Owen Roncon, founder of Oranjuice Entertainment, which is one of the festival organisers.
He also added that every month in Mumbai, they have been getting almost the same bunch of people who are interested in the event. By taking it to Goa, the organisers wanted to expose it to a larger audience from different cities. Also, another aspect that spurred them to take this step was that Goa hosts international tourists, and they wanted them to hear the sounds of Indian bands, to take back to their country. “Goa is a hotspot for live music so that was another reason,” Roncon mentioned.

This time, the festival will focus on Indie Rock, Pop and Reggae. Thirteen acts with seven local and six international bands will take the centrestage, and the artist line-up includes The Colour Compound, Nikhil D’Souza, Peter Cat Recording Co, Joe Purdy and Dub Mafia.
“The criteria of selection this time around was also the same as every month. We wanted independent bands, not more than two years old. But a conscious decision this time was to add a Reggae touch since it was in Goa. So, we roped in Julian Marley, son of the legendary Bob Marley,” informs Roncon.
“We want the Goa edition to be an annual affair and are planning to take the sessions to other cities like Bangalore and Kolkata in the near future,”
he adds.
