Dhaka: South Africa pacer Wayne Parnell received an anonymous, threatening phone call here on the day of the first T20I against Bangladesh on Sunday, ESPNCricinfo reported.

According to the BCB’s security consultant Hossain Imam, Parnell was abused and threatened by an anonymous caller.

“Soon after the incident, we informed the intelligence agencies,” Imam was quoted as saying by the Bengali daily Kaler Kantho.

“They have been trying to trace the caller and from where the call was made,” he added.
