Bengali-Telugu actress Anusmriti Sarkar, who was recently linked to cricketer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, is dipping her feet in Bollywood
Model-turned-actress Anusmriti Sarkar, who has done quite a few Bengali and Telugu films, has forayed into Bollywood. She features in Arita Singh's musical love story, Jaane Kaisa Yeh Ishq, along with a bunch of newcomers.
The actress, who calls herself a Mumbai girl, has already begun shooting for the film, "It is a heart-touching love story. The makers will announce the project soon," she says, revealing that she has a few Hindi film offers on hand as well.
Earlier this month, Anusmriti found herself in news when she was linked to Indian cricketer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Lending credence to the rumours, the speedster posted his cropped photo at a restaurant on social media on May 11 and captioned it, 'Dinner date, full pic soon'.
It was alleged that the other half of the picture was that of Anusmirti. His fans also claimed to have spotted the two in a car. Bhuvneshwar, however, had dismissed the buzz, saying, "Please note she is definitely not the one you are looking for."
Anusmriti's Instagram post following the rumours, however, keeps the gossip about the two alive. She wrote, "A lot has been said about me and him recently… Whether you like the idea or not, it's a request — if you don't know the entire story, please don't judge. Are we friends? Yes. Does that mean we deserve hate and scrutiny? Leave me in my personal space."
Anusmriti made her film debut with the 2011 Bengali film, Bhorer Alo, directed by National Award winning director, Prabhat Roy, in which she replaced Riya Sen to star opposite Rohit Roy. She also featured Rajiv Kumar Biswas's Bikram Singha: The Lion Is Back (2012) with Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee. Her Telugu film resume includes Ishta Sakhi (2014), Heroine (2015) and Suswagatam (2016).
