A photo exhibition with some of the finest names in the business is shunning galleries to capture audiences in a city mall
An exhibition of photographs aptly titled Art Out Of The Gallery will be on display in a mall instead of a traditional art gallery. "The whole idea is to make art accessible to people and not restrict it to galleries. A mall that houses luxury brands and draws massive footfall every day made for an ideal venue," shares photographer Jatin Kampani whose firm Merchant of Cool is organising the exhibition along with Wines Of India. "We thought that fine art photography has not received its due as an art form. We asked each photographer to pick a series that was not a commercial project but one they did for themselves," he adds.

"We picked nine photographers who had a robust body of work, had shot multiple series of photographs and spent time devoting themselves to the art of photography. We didn’t want random images. We wanted the experience to be seamless, like in a gallery. We will display four photos per photographer but if you scan the codes, displayed with the photographs you can access the rest from the series online," concludes Kampani.
