Mumbai's DJ Ruskin readies to take the city by storm with his brand of sound
This is not the first time that Mumbai’s DJ Ruskin will perform in the city. This time, however, he will experiment with different sounds.
“At previous gigs, I performed Electro and ghetto/funky breaks to ’60s, ’70s Funk, Soul and Disco mashups, but this time I’ll play more Progressive Techno,” reveals the experienced DJ.u00a0Speaking about his previous performances in the city, he says, “Pune has an amazing number of music lovers. The response always seems to overwhelm me.”
Ruskin also notes changes in the city’s nightlife in recent years. “The city has rapidly developed in the past few years, and is soon catching up with
Mumbai.”u00a0The DJ, who has been working on his craft for over 15 years now, finds that performing for a live audience is one of the biggest payoffs of his profession.
“It gives me a lot of satisfaction to see smiles on peoples’ faces during a performance,” he says, adding, “I love to play different genres of music.”
Ruskin has been the in-house DJ for some of Mumbai’s premier bars, including J49, Henry Tham and, most recently, Dragonfly.
