Bangladesh finished at 181-7 in reply to Sri Lanka’s 198-5, with Mohammad Ashraful (43), skipper Mushfiqur Rahim (39) and Mohammad Mahmudullah (31) being the main scorers. Sri Lankan pacemen Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera each took two wickets.

Opener Kusal Perera earlier top-scored for Sri Lanka with a 44-ball 64, while Jeevan Mendis (37), Mathews (30 not out) and Thisara Perera (22 not out) were the other main run-getters.


The opener hit four sixes and five fours in his quickfire knock before falling in the 12th over, caught by wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim off off-spinner Mohammad Mahmudullah.
