St Andrew's Junior College rallied from a 0-1 deficit to beat another Bandra outfit, Rizvi Junior College 2-1 and clinch the boys under-17 title in the Maharashtra Government DSO's (Divisional Sports Office) Subroto Mukherjee Cup football tournament (for suburban schools) held at St Francis D'Assisi High School ground (Borivili) ground yesterday.

Played in virtual downpour with underfoot conditions hardly conducive to good movements, Rizvi went into the lead when Krish Adhikari's long ranger sailed over the Andrews goalkeeper's head into the net.

With free flowing soccer restricted by rain both the sides tried short passes followed by ariel shots now and then only to be thwarted by slushy spots inside the box.

St Andrews changed gears after the break and found the equalizer through Shriyas Sail's long ranger from the right which slipped through the Rizvi goalkeeper's fingers.

Boosted by this reversal St Andrews boys went for the kill and got the winner minutes before the final whistle when Naresh Bohra found himself at the right place and at the right time to tap the ball in after a goal-mouth skirmish.

Kritika Chhabra's brilliance helped RSB Arya Vidyamandir from Juhu clinch the girls title beating MMK Jr College (Bandra) 3-1.
