Don Bosco High School (Matunga) and St Lawrence High School (Kandivli) were left high and dry after they cancelled each other out 1-1 in Pool 'B' encounter of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) U-16 Div I inter-school tournament at the MSSA ground, Azad Maidan yesterday.

St Lawrence managed to take the lead in the 32nd minute when Bosco's 'keeper Priyansh Harjai let the ball through his legs, only for an unmarked Rohit Rawat to tap it in. Don Bosco, then equallised in the 56th minute through Aaron Nazareth's strike.

St Lawrence coach Lachman Singh Bisht revealed he was desperate for a win after his side lost their opening match against Don Bosco (Borivili).

'Draw hurts'
"We needed a win today to level the playing field. If we had won then Don Bosco would have had lost one game like us. Francis D'Assisi have lost one of their games so it would have been competitive," said Bisht.

On the other hand, a draw
doesn't hurt Bosco's chances of reaching the playoffs, but the draw left coach Leslie Machado unhappy.

"We consider it as two points dropped rather than a point gained. There are so many tough teams in our group. We needed a win today but it's still early days," said a disappointed Machado.
