The brother-sister bond has been glorified a number of times in Hindi films. So it was no surprise when Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to post Raksha Bandhan messages.

Bipasha Basu tweeted - "Celebrating the Beautiful Bond between a sister n brother:)Happy Rakshabandhan to All!"


Starlet Poonam Pandey, known for posting racy pictures of herself, this time decided to do something different. She posted a picture of her and a man, who we believe is her brother. Accompanying this was a tweet - "Happy Raksha Bandhan to my bro,thank you for Always looking out for me,Happy Raksha Bandhan to everyone celebrating."

Ayesha Takia wished her "big bhaiya" Nagesh Kukunoor and also posted a picture of her tying him a rakhi. Their bond dates back to the time when Kukunoor directed Takia in the 2006 film Dor. Her performance in this film won her a lot of praise.

Mallika Sherawat posted - "Happy Raksha Bandhan, wish my brother Vikram was with me today:("

Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan said that she had bought a Spiderman rakhi for brother Sajid and was hoping that he wears it. We hope so too.

The final word however came from Big B, who posted - "The sister-brother relationship need not necessarily be genetic .. i have none that are genetic, but millions tie the 'rakhi!"u00a0
