The local resident Avinash Pawar said, “The incident took place from Monday late evening till late night. The dog was roaming around bitting people or pouncing on them and scratching them. We had called up police and even local authorities but they were unable to trace. Finally the dog entered an Engineering college hostel and was targeting students. So, some students stoned him to death.”

He added, “Many people were rushed to Manchar government health centre for treatment but the hospital did not have enough stock of Anti-rabies injection so all patients were then rushed to Sassoon General hospital. Some were admitted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital in Pimpri Chinchwad."

Sassoon General Hospital doctor said, "All the patients are now out of danger and medicine has been given to them."
