"She has a lot of patience and she takes a lot of interest in her work. She has never told me to hurry up. She has so much excitement in her, she keeps saying, 'I want to see how I look'. And after the whole look is ready when she sees it, she says, 'Wow! This is so nice' and she becomes extremely delighted," Shinde said in an interview.

Aishwarya plays the sister of Sarabjit Singh in "Sarbjit", and her character matures from a young character to an elderly woman in the 23 years of seeking justice for her imprisoned brother.

About the brief given to him by director Omung Kumar, Shinder said: "When Omung sir had called me to his office and we spoke about the script, and the characters and the look required, he said that he didn't want Aishwarya ji to look like Aishwarya ji.

"There should be glamour but the look had to change. Then we discussed and decided on the look. It was definitely challenging because we have always seen her in a glamorous avatar and here we had to take her to become a 40 or 50-year-old."

Shinde terms "Sarbjit" his best work and said that he is flooded with compliments from all corners.

He had previously worked on another of Omung's biopic "Mary Kom", making Priyanka Chopra look as close as possible to the woman boxer. But he doesn't believe he is a "biopic specialist". "I'm getting work like that so I'm enjoying it," he said.

He has also worked on masala films such as "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela", "Grand Masti" among numerous films.

About the difference between working on a biopic and a masala film, he said: " Working on a biopic and a masala film is very different. Masala films have a different look, but even they require detailing. But it becomes a kind of struggle when you have to completely transform the look. Maintaining the look for 40-50 days becomes difficult."

He is also working on a film with veteran actress Sridevi, something he considers an 'award' in itself.
