State cooperation minister Harshavardhan Patil (in pic) on Sunday informed the media that the delegation would meet Dr Singh and would demand giving minimum fair remunerative prices to sugarcane farmers.
Violent protests have been carried out over the last few days in Sangli, Kolhapur and Satara district by farmers, demanding better price for their produce.
Patil, who was present for the inauguration of an exhibition to mark 100 years of Directorate of Town Planning and Valuation Department, Pune, also appealed the farmers to call off the protest.
“The government will sort out the issue through discussions, and I request the farmers to end their protest,” he said.
