"I am not the kind of guy who works out at the gym and comes home to wait for a movie offer," says Sumeet Vyas, whose latest web show, 'Tripling' (he is also its writer) is inspiring siblings to take a road trip together.

The actor-writer, best known for his hit show, 'Permanent Roommates', will make his Bollywood debut as scriptwriter for Ronnie Screwvala's maiden venture as an independent producer. Friend Anand Tiwari is expected to direct the romantic film that stars Vicky Kaushal.

The two go back a long way. They have co-written the Ali Fazal-starrer 'Bang Baaja Baaraat'. "I remember he was shooting in Goa for 'Finding Fanny' when he asked me to come down to discuss a script. Half the hotel thought we were dating; we were always caught in intense conversations, and arguing over meals," he adds with a laugh.

Sumeet, who enjoys oscillating between acting and writing, looks at this project as a "nice break from acting and its struggles". "Nothing should stop a compulsive storyteller. Anand and I are just that," he says.

The film is a modern day rom-com set in Mumbai. On paper, it is a hilarious story on relationships and their changing dynamics in today's age. "We have taken suggestions on the title, but haven't been able to zero in on one yet," he shares.

Ronnie, who returns to Hindi films after four years of having moved on from UTV in 2013, is in Sumeet's opinion "a gem of a guy". "I hadn't interacted much with him, but when we met for a joint script reading session, it was clear he is the kind to back good stories. He doesn't create that superfluous pressure on you although it's the first film under his banner. He is looking at us to deliver a good story."

Is a sequel of Bang Baaja… on the cards? He says, "We all got busy, but that is a sequel that must and will happen."
