If you thought the global financial crisis had compelled financial types in the West to trim spends on lavish banquets think again.

Vivat Bacchus, one of London's business district restaurants, which made headlines all around the world last year for introducing a u00c2u00a31,000 (approx Rs 75,000) tasting menu before withdrawing the repast because of the financial crunch, is under pressure by moguls in the City to reproduce the menu.

The fare included royal sevruga caviar, lobster linguini salad with 40-year old Armagnac, grilled Wagyu fillet steak with seared foie gras and 15 varieties of cheese washed down with Billecart Salmon rose champagne, Chateau Lafite Rotschild and 1963 Taylors Port.

It is now learnt that the eatery is all set to re-introduce the menu. A romantic type recently decided to spoil his wife with a treat, while many more have, reportedly, celebrated the closing of big deals.

Recession, depression, stagflation: Makes no difference to certain tycoons in the business of making money.
