The Supreme Court today stayed the demolitions of homes in the Campa Cola compound and gave the residents five months to vacate the premises.
Residents of Campa Cola compound in Worli, whose homes were to be razed today by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, got some relief as Supreme Court stayed the demolitions.
The apex court granted five months to the residents to vacate the controversial premises.

This move eases the woes of the families staying there after the Bomaby High Court had on Monday refused to grant relief to them.
For many days now, residents of Campa Cola compound were protesting against the civic body's decision to raze their homes.
Campa Cola compound has seven highrises. The BMC has issued notices to 140 residents to demolish all structures above the fifth floor of the seven buildings as the builder had constructed them illegally.
The Supreme Court verdict of February 27, 2013, had instructed BMC to go ahead with the demolition of all flats in the compound above the fifth floor as they had violated the floor space index (FSI).
The buildings also don’t have Occupation Certificates. u00a0
