The actor was in the city to promote the new season of Life Ok's popular show 'Savdhaan India - India Fights Back' and held lack of education and awareness responsible for the rise in "sexual crimes".
"I don't agree with the fact that sexual crimes are on the rise due to internet, but the countries in which pornography is valid crime against women is less comparatively to our country," he said.
On being asked about the ongoing debate on intolerance in the country Sushant said that it had always been there.
"People saying that intolerance has increased in last six-eight months is not right. Intolerance is increasing is a right fact and the signals have gone wrong, but the strong message which should have come from government was missing. This was the lack," he said.
