Given the ex-minister's penchant for five-star suites something that made headlines earlier the wedding reception for Shashi Tharoor and Sunanda Pushkar was a relatively austere affair.
There was no music, no DJ, no elaborate stage for the bride and groom, and no wine or whiskey.

Though the Who's Who of the capital were spotted at the reception yesterday evening. A slight spoiler was the rain.
The seating arrangement in the open area remained vacant owing to the downpour, as guests crowded in the small foyer at the venue.

Although Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh could not make it, first lady Gursharan Kaur was spotted among an eclectic mix of diplomats, socialites, writers, and journalists to felicitate the couple.
Politicians cutting across party lines includingu00a0 BJP's L K Advani and Arun Jaitley were among those who attended.
Other prominent names included P Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad Farooq Abdullah, Sam Pitroda, Chandan Mitra, Navin Jindal, Salman Khurshid, Pawan Kumar Bansal, Rajat Sharma and others.
