> InnerSpring Mattressu00a0
InnerSpring mattresses are the most common type of mattress. They include extra springs for upper comfort.

> Memory Foam Mattress
They are made of layers of different densities of elastic foam to act as a support system. They contour themselves to the specific shape of your body.

> Latex Foam Mattress
Latex mattresses are made from either natural or synthetic rubber and are known for providing a very firm, bouncy support that is uniform throughout the bed. Latex foam is extremely resilient and breathable which helps to reduce the heat build-up typically associated with all-foam mattresses.

> Air Mattresses
Air beds look like a standard innerspring mattress, but use air-filled chambers instead of coils, and are covered by a foam layer on top. They are especially useful for patients with back injuries as they have long been used for patients with spinal cord injuries who are lying in bed for a long time.u00a0
Physiotherapist Dr Lalita Nadkarni said that if the mattress is too soft it can cause back problems.

When Should You Buy a Mattress
> If you’re waking up in the morning with back pain.
> The mattress is sagging along the area you sleep.
> It has soft, non-supportive edges.
> The mattress makes creaking noises.
> Sagging across the middle third of the mattress or along the sides makes you roll toward your partner.
> You’re not sleeping well and are always tired in the morning.

Tips for testing a mattress
> When you’re lying down on a mattress, relax into your normal sleeping position.
> Check that the mattress is supporting your entire body — it should take your shape.
> There should be no space between you and the bed. For example, if you’re lying on your back, your spine should be aligned properly with your body, and there shouldn’t be a gap where your back arches.
> If you’re buying a mattress that you’ll be sleeping on with a partner, test it out with them. A good mattress should prevent you from rolling into each other.
