Mumbai has witnessed its third death from swine flu in a matter of two months with a 35-year-old female from Borivali succumbing to the deadly virus on Tuesday
While Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has already asked the top health officials of the state to launch an action plan to keep a tab on the number of swine flu deaths in the city, Mumbai witnessed its third death in a matter of two months.
A 35-year-old female from Borivali was the third Mumbaikar to succumb to the deadly virus on March 3. The woman was admitted to Karuna Hospital in Borivali at first and was later shifted to Kasturaba Hospital in south Mumbai on February 27 after testing positive for the disease.

Doctors confirmed that she succumbed to sepsis with bilateral pnemonities along with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS).
Around 27 patients tested positive for the viral disease on Tuesday. Over 597 Mumbaikars have already been diagnosed H1N1 positive since January 19. Public and private hospitals around the state have been asked to provide treatment free of cost to the swine flu patients below poverty line.
In what will be a relief to the state health department, the number of swine flu patients has slowed down over the past three days, with the count remaining at 21, 24 and 27, which is relatively slower than last week.
The state health department has already announced that they are ready to tackle the issue and have no shortage of medicines or so. However, with doctors being told to start medication without waiting for the test results, the usage of Tamiflu and other swine flu medications are slated to witness a higher rate of consumption in the coming days.
