2003: Reeling under the news of Shane Warne being suspended for consuming a banned diuretic, Symonds slams an amazing 143 off 125 balls against Pakistan in Johannesburg to kick off Australia's 2003 World Cup campaign.

2004: Makes his Test debut for Australia (vs Sri Lanka at Galle). He helps Shane Warne achieve his 500th Test wicket milestone by catching Sri Lankan skipper Hashan Tillakaratne for 25.


2005: Gets dropped from the team in England after turning for an ODI against Bangladesh in Cardiff under the influence of alcohol. The drinking issue came up again in 2008.
