Take a leap of faith

This one isn't for the faint hearted. Especially for those who think the only way to be airborne is when you fly in an aeroplane. Skydiving or parachuting involves a pre planned drop from a plane with a deployable parachute.

There are three ways to skydive. Experienced skydivers practice static Line Parachuting. The static line is a cord that connects the aircraft to the parachute that makes it deploy when the diver jumps.

When the parachute opens, it disconnects. Tandem skydiving is open to novices and is the type where the beginner is harnessed to the tandem master who executes the entire drop.

Accelerated Free Fall has two or more instructors executing the jump with a novice. The costs for a single jump begin from Rs 15,000 onwards

Skydiving India (www.skydivingindia.com/blog/) conducted a session in Indore in September 2009.

You can join their Facebook group Skydiving India (https://www.facebook/. com/group.php?gid=137336408905# !/group .php? gid =137336408905&v=info) for details about activities planned this year.

In the same year, a skydiving camp was organised by the Indian parachuting Federation in October, at Deesa in Gujarat.
