Los Angeles: Rod Daniel, the filmmaker who directed a young Michael J Fox in the 1985 fantasy-comedy 'Teen Wolf' has died. He was 73.


Daniel passed away at his Chicago home on April 16, said The Hollywood Reporter.


Born and raised in Nashville, the filmmaker began his Hollywood career in television, where he produced and directed several episodes of the CBS sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati.


He also helmed episodes of other television series, including 'Newhart', 'Caroline in the City', 'Everybody Loves Raymond' and 'Magnum, PI'.

Daniel made his feature debut with 'Teen Wolf' and went on to direct films like 'The Super' starring Joe Pesci, the Kirk Cameron-Dudley Moore body-swap comedy 'Like Father Like Son', 'Beethoven's 2nd' and the made-for-TV 'Home Alone 4'.

He retired from filmmaking in 2003. Daniel is survived by his wife Marti, whom he married in 1968, children John and Lucas and grandson Ethan.
