If rumours are to be believed, Tejaswini Kolhapure has left the makers of an upcoming film in the lurch. The actress had initially given her dates for Onir’s next production but appears to have gone back on her words at the last minute.
According to sources, the actress had been shooting for Anurag Kashyap’s next and had asked Onir to wait for her dates to get free. The makers postponed their schedules twice to accommodate her until she herself opted out of the project that is based on caste issues. A source close to the film says, “Tejaswini was in talks with Onir and had shown her interest in the project. We even pushed our film back for a year to have her join the team. When we told her we could not wait any longer, she walked out on us.”
In her defence, the actress says, “We were to start shooting last year for the film but it got delayed. I got busy shooting for Anurag’s film. Now when they asked me again for it, I could not do it.” Says Onir, “Tejaswini had some other commitment and we could not change our dates as I am starting another film shortly after my next.”
