In a tragic incident, five engineering students drowned in a lake while trying to save a girl taking selfie in Telangana's Warangal district on Saturday.

The incident happened when a girl Ramya Pratyusha who was trying to take a selfie slipped and fell down. On seeing her, five others jumped in after her in an attempt to save her.
According to reports, the students, who belonged to Vaagdevi Engineering College, had gone to Dharmasagar lake on Saturday.
In an attempt to save Pratyusha, other students which also included two girls, jumped one after the other into the lake. While Pratyusha managed to save her life, the others who jumped to save her, drowned.
The police have identified the victims as Sravya Reddy, Polineni Vinuthna, Karne Shivasai, P. Shivasaikrishna, and Srindhi.
