The world is waiting with bated breath for Oscar night in the beginning of March. Joining the fray is Doolally’s Pub Quiz which is based on the Academy Awards
At Doolally’s Pub Quiz — Oscar Special, quiz masters J Ramanand and BV Harish’s interesting questions will test the audiences’ movie quotient.
An Oscar special quiz will be held
Quizmaster BV Harish Kumar says, “The Oscar Quiz won’t be an intricate question-answer session but it will be a fun round of Oscar-related trivia. We will ask simple things which might be co-relating somehow. Like in the 2002 Oscars, No Man’s Land emerged as a winner. So, what’s the relevance to India? The answer is that Lagaan lost to No Man’s Land.”
There will also be a special performance by artiste Raushan Verma who will croon covers and originals from several genres including tracks by artistes such as Queen, Beegees and Aerosmith.
Talking about the gig, Verma (23), says, “It will be an acoustic performance along with percussionist Saket Rao. We will present a few covers by celebrated artistes and perform some original numbers from our upcoming album. Good lyrics and an involvement with the audience sets our band apart.”
Centre of Origin is his upcoming album and is set to release next month. “Centre of Origin is a mixture of different genres, structured with a Rock approach that includes both Alternative and Soft Rock. Every song is connected to each other, as it depicts the different phases in life that the protagonist goes through. We have also released the video for one song from the album called Your Song that has been liked by many so far,” he concludes.
