The Ulhasnagar police have arrested the 26-year-old man on Tuesday for killing a 24-year-old bar girl with whom he was into illicit relationship. The accused was produced in court on Wednesday and remanded to police custody till November 28.
Rajesh Khan 26, killed his lover a bar girl, Jamila Khan alias Khatoon 24. Khan hailed from West Bengal and used to live with Jamila at Rajaram Complex located in Asher Gaon in Ulahsnagar.
According to the police the incident took place on Friday afternoon. After an argument between them Khan overpowered and chocked her to death. "On Friday afternoon Khan met Safiuallah Shaikh 35, his friend and neighbor and gave him the key of his third floor flat. He said Jamila had left home and was going to search for her. On Friday night Shaikh received a call from Khan asking him dispose the a bag in which he had stuffed her corpse after murdering her. Khan then informed us and accordingly we started the further investigation,” said a police officer.

Surendra Shirsat, Senior Police Inspector, Vitthalwadi police station said, “They claimed in the complex that they were married, but Khan claims he was in an illicit relationship with her and was not happy as she use to work in a bar. In order to confuse us, he told Safiuallah, who told us about it that he is heading to Bangalore. But, when we traced his location and found that he is heading to Calcutta, we sent a team of officers from our police station and Ulhasnagar Crime Branch who nabbed him on Sunday morning, when he got down at Howrah railway station.”
Shirsat further added, “He was arrested on Tuesday, produced in court on Wednesday, and is in police custody till November 28. He claims to have a family in West Bengal and is married. The deceased was unhappy as he didn't spend much time with her and regular fights occurred between the two.”
