Thane: A delegation of leaders from the BJP and Shiv Sena, along with builders from Thane and Mumbai, met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and demanded strict action in connection with the alleged suicide of a Thane-based builder.
The delegation — comprising Thane Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde, MLAs Pratap Sarnaik and Mangalprabhat Lodha, as well as 30-odd builders from Thane and Mumbai — met the CM on Saturday.
“We demanded strict action in the suicide case of Suraj Parmar and apprised the CM of the suicide and also explained the circumstances behind Parmar’s extreme step,” said Sarnaik.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry’s Thane unit will hold a protest march on October 13, demanding strict inquiry into the case.
On October 7, Parmar had allegedly shot himself, leaving a suicide note that said he was fed up of red-tapism that had caused extensive losses in his construction projects.
