Saraswati Secondary English School students Sonali Shantrama Chavan and Shefali Pradeep Mhadadalkar stood first and second respectively in the 2009 Mumbai SSC exams.Sonali scored 96.46 per cent to top the Mumbai division.
The burden of expectation was clearly reflecting on Shefali, last night, when she trying hard to control her tears. However, the Saraswati Secondary English School student was gleaming when the results were announced today.
Shefali felt she always been consistent with her studies studying 4 hours a day.
According to Shefali's mother Neeta Mhadadalkar, Shefali has been a topper since grade 1 but she was nervous during her SSC board because the exam was a big affair with lakhs of students appearing for it.
"Shefali even cried last night because her relatives and friends kept calling her asking how much percentage she would score and if she would be able to top this time or not," Neeta said. The proud mother added that she was confident that Shefali would excel this time as well.
Shefali's mother has plans of a huge bash for all the relatives, neighbours, and friends and of course her teachers.
