The Navghar police have arrested a bar girl for threatening and extorting money from a 49-year-old BMC engineer with whom she was allegedly having an affair. According to the police, the ordeal started a ago back when she demanded a sum of Rs 20 lakh from the engineer and threatened to tell the his wife about the affair if he refused to pay up.

An officer from Navghar police station revealed: “The engineer, along with his friends, had been to a farmhouse in Alibaug on a trip. There they had called Neelam and her friend Anu, who is also a bar girl. The engineer and the girl shared their contact numbers and eventually got involved in a physical relationship.”
The officer added that the engineer had helped her financially for her son’s education and she also started a shop in Kandivli with his help.
