Day two of Bangalore Fashion week saw Gen Next designers from different parts of India showcasing their collections. The show started with designer duo from Kolkatta, Koushik and Priti Bansal. Their collection was inspired from the Bengali and Marwari culture. Bright hues like red and yellow dominated the runway. Heavily embellished
Sequins work was clearly visible in all their outfits. Graduated from YWCA, Kolkatta, the designer duo sells their designs under the label 'Elan'. "This is the first fashion show we are a part of. The response from the audience is good but yet there are no buyers," says Priti.

Second collection was displayed by designers Pankaj Kumar and Ajit Parihar from Delhi.u00a0 The theme 'Kali Mati' (Black soil) was well exhibited in their design. The colour palette included black, maroon and green. "I am from Gujrat and Ajit from Gwalior but based in Delhi. Our designs are modern with a traditional touch. It's for the contemporary women of today," says Pankaj Kumar.

u00a0Next collection was displayed by the young designer Bhakti Reddy from Hyderabad.u00a0 Cock tail gowns and tunic in raw silk and brocade with paisley motifs was the key feature. The look was minimalist, simple and elegant for the urban Indian women. Something to note was there was no accessories used apart from the ones ornamenting the dress.

The day show ended with Kaira Gurnani from Mumbai. Fluidity was the inspiration for her eclectic collection. Silhouettes like kaftans and draped garments made out of fabric like Satin and chiffon ruled and the crowd was all praise for her. Music and choreography for each show was apt which created an ambience that best reflected their themes and inspiration.

Where are the cru00c3u00a8me of Bangalore?
However, there were no social butterflies and who's who of namma Bengaluru present there. Trendy youngsters clad with over the top make up and press filled the seats. We could spot city hair stylist and fashion aspirants at the show. The crowd is eagerly waiting for the showstopper Koena Mitra, who will walk down the ramp for designer Priyanka Thakur.

No business
Something that was really missing was the business aspect. There were hardly any buyers seen. According to designer Priti "There has been no buyers approaching us, it is just the general audience enquiring about the designs and price." Pankaj agreed to what she said, "I too could not spot any buyers." The shows choreographer Sheetal Sharma said "This is the first time Bangalore Fashion week is taking place, there will be some teething problem initially but we are getting a good response." "People need to come and support the budding designers and enjoy dozens like Jattinn Kochar. Ramesh Dembla, Manoviraj and Rocky S," she added.

Sultry Sirens
Known models like Rachel Bayros, Pallavi Singh, and Priya Nayak sashayed down the runway wearing the trendy designer outfits. Rachel Bayros who will be here for just few days said "I really wanted to be a part BFW and proud to be a part of it. Today's collections were feminine, sophisticated and really chic. Bangalore is a happening and fashionable city".
