The foodie in Shruti Pathak!
Cooking is a great therapy to relax for many including our very busy artists. Singer Shruti Pathak, who finds cooking synonymous to music, tells CS about the foodie in her:
Missing home food
I travel a lot and I miss home food. I actually have a very small appetite and I am a vegetarian. So, a lot of times when I travel, I have to live on salads, and that makes me miss mom’s food even more. I totally love my mum’s khichadi with lots of ghee in it. I am a hard core Amdavadi, a total foodie. I don’t believe in dieting. Thanks to my body’s superb metabolism, I can lose or gain weight in two days.
Trying it out
I love Indian and Mexican food and I like to experiment with food the way I do with music. I feel it’s a similar process. As you add different spices to a dish while cooking, the flavour changes. Similarly, in music, every instrument adds a different touch to the song. And the outcome is always yummy. I do mess up at times though. Once, I was cooking something, I put it on the gas and forgot about it. I remembered only 4-5 hours later. By that time, it was completely burnt and the kitchen was full of smoke.
