Steaming hot cappuccinos served in mugs -- large enough to drown your sorrows -- is the USP of Andheri's new coffee stop: The Hideaway Beach

Located in a blink-and-you-miss-it section on Yari Road in Andheri, The Hideaway Beach is true to its name. The tranquil new eatery simulates a tropical island shack on a Goan beach, ripe for relaxation. Wooden planks at the entrance and sand on the floor, add to the ambience.

The place currently serves only coffees, teas, milkshakes and snacks, but plans to soon expand their menu to include Continental food.

The Cheese Canape (Rs 60) is lots of cream cheese, olives, corn, bell pepper, and paprika served on brown bread. The one-bite toasts were crisp, salty, cheesy, and delicious, and would make a scrumptious start to a cocktail party or as a delicious accompaniment to steaming cups of coffee. The only complaint is that the portions were small.u00a0

The Tuna Sandwich (Rs 99) is tuna paste with fresh basil and celery served between two slices of nicely grilled brown bread. The tuna had a nice tang to it thanks to a hint of vinegar, though they might have done well to hold back on the mayo.

The Cappuccino (Rs 39) was perfect. Served piping hot in big, porcelain mugs, the rich coffee was a relief from the 'hot' coffees served at lukewarm temperatures at other popular coffee chains. A definite must-try.
The Cold Coffee (Rs 49) was a medium roast coffee with a few top notes. It had a good solid base note that perfectly complemented the flavour of the vanilla ice cream. The splash of cold milk was a good addition to the fairly sweet coffee.

Full marks on ambience. There is interior and exterior seating available. Both work very well, to 'hideaway' from this perennially busy city.
