The lucky band

Watch Mumbai-based band, The Mavyns, perform live at Arc Asia. Their line-up includes original compositions and popular covers as they hope 11.11.11 proves lucky for them

If their profile on a social networking site is anything to go by, you must catch The Mavyns' gig at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender pre-party. Having played before in the city, the band has managed to garner a lot of rave reviews from the music circuit.

Pradeep Mathews, the lead guitarist and vocalist says, "Pune is one of our favourite places to perform. The crowd has always been very accepting and it is a great feeling to play in the city."

When quizzed on how different would it be this time around, Mathews says, "We are mostly going to be playing originals along with some covers. It is unusual but we just want to have a lot of fun. Also, I don't want to emphasise on it but 11.11.11 is touted to be a lucky day and I'm hoping it works its magic for us as well."
With The Beatles being one of their influences, there is hardly anything that can go awry with the
performance.

They are going to play some of their popular originals such as My Downtown Baby and Bedtime Stories.
"We know the crowd that comes for our gigs. We are just a month away from recording our album. Most of the songs that we will be playing will form a part of the album," concludes Mathews. So head to Arc Asia to watch this livewire band give a rocking performance.

From 9 pm onwards
At Arc Asia, ABC Farms, Koregaon Park.
