After Farhan, Ranbir and Katrina, Abhay Deol is the next actor to play the role of a rockstar. The young actor plans to start a band too
Move over Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. There's another rockstar in the making. Deol plays the leader of a rock band called Zahreelay Launde in Navdeep Singh's Rock the Shaadi (earlier called Shaadi Of The Dead), expected to hit theatres early next year.
The band members include Genelia D'Souza and model-turned-actor Kushal Punjabi. Other members are yet to be finalised.
Being the method actor he is, Deol is not taking his role as a musician lightly. He has begun training, and is now learning to play the guitar, and sing at a shrieking octave that can carry across a stadium.
He has also started sitting in for music sessions with composer Ram Sampath, who is working on the score of the film. Deol is also getting a muscian's body language in place.
Says a source, "The rock band is being created as part of the film. But Abhay wants Zehreelay Launde to have a life of its own, beyond the film."
