Three men linked to a fake currency racket in Uttar Pradesh and its adjoining states have been arrested with counterfeit Indian notes worth Rs.1 lakh here, police said Friday.


Umesh, Shiv Kumar and Dukhharan - aged around 35 yearsu00a0-- were nabbed Thursday night from the Gudamba area when they were on their way to hand over the fake currency to some of their clients, police inspector Vimal Gautam told reporters here.


"Besides circulating the fake notes, they also used to manufacture them. They have been in the illegal trade for the last four-five years and operated in Uttar Pradesh and adjoining states," he added.
