This week, the city seems to have a little bit of everything to offer for music aficionados. If Jazz is your poison, talented young pianist Sharik Hasan is back in the city with his music project, Sharik Hasan Trio. The ensemble comprises Philippe Lemm on drums and Marco Zenini on bass. Hasan is one of the youngest prodigious Indian names to shine on the world’s Jazz circuit. And together with Italian artiste Zenini who has been playing music since he was 16, and Lemm, the performance will be a night to remember.
Celebrating the auspicious occasion of Ashadi Ekadashi is the devotional music concert Teerth Vitthal. The occasion is an important date in Maharashtra for those who worship Hindu deity Panduranga or Vitthal who is supposed to be an incarnation of Vishnu. The concert will feature performances by artistes Rahul Deshpande, Anand Bhate, Manjusha Patil and Sayali Talwalkar.
For those who love Electronic Dance Music, DJ Danger from France will be performing in the city today. His musical influences cover a varied range from the ’80s action-film sounds to mysterious territories: a landscape that belongs equally in an Amiga video game as a fictional animated film.
Teerth Vitthal will feature Rahul Deshpande, Anand Bhate, Manjusha Patil and Sayali Talwalkar
