Salem: A local court today sentenced a man and his parents to life for setting ablaze his 19-year-old wife more than three years ago at their home in the district. Chief Judicial Magistrate Jothiraman also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 each on the three convicts.
According to police, 25-year-old Saravanan started suspecting his wife's fidelity after marriage. His parents started looking for another alliance and the three allegedly began torturing her.

On March 21, 2012, while she was sleeping, the three allegedly poured kerosene over her and set her ablaze.
Her father had lodged a complaint with police.
