For those who thought theme parks were meant for kids, a trip to any of these will prove otherwise. Get transported to a makebelieve world where anything, and we mean anything, is possible

Magic Kingdom Park, USA
Turn your storybook fantasies into reality at the heart of Walt Disney world, where makebelieve characters like Mickey and Cinderella come alive.

Having withstood changing cultures and technological advancements since 1971, the world's most visited theme park located in Florida has managed to retain its charm and transport millions of visitors to a dream world, year after year.

Magic Kingdom is divided into five distinct areas, all meeting in front of the Cinderella Castle (based on the turreted German castle, Neuschwanstein).

The seven lands are Main Street USA, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Mickey's Toontown Fair and Adventureland.

Hour-long queues during peak season might be a turn-off but plan wisely and it'll make for a visit you'll never forget.

Europa Park, Germany

The largest in Germany and one of the most popular in Europe, this seasonal theme park in Rust is where the vision of a united continent has taken place.

Twelve European countries are represented in the 200-acre grounds, with everything from the architecture and culture to their natural habitat being authentically reproduced.

So while the Russia Park has a high-speed coaster based around Russian Space Missions, Scandinavia has a fjord-rafting river rapids ride and Greece has a water coaster ride dedicated to Poseidon.

Tivoli Gardens, Denmark

Being the world's second oldest amusement park, the park maintains a balance between exuding tradition and history and packing modern, hair-raising rides.

During the day, the languid expanse of manicured lawns that showcase swathes of pink, red and white flowers are a major draw for visitors.

The park is best known for its wooden roller coaster built in 1914, apart from the world's tallest carrousel and a flight simulator ride.

As the sun sets, the fairy tale gardens take on a romantic hue, especially at midnight, when the beer gardens come alive against the backdrop of fireworks that light up the night sky.
