Permits of auto drivers to be cancelled after the fourth complaint

Lord Krishna has given a hundred chances to his cousin but the city transport department is not so benevolent.
The department has declared that any auto driver found indulging in any malpractices will have to lose his permit after the third 'sin'.

"If the transport department receives three complaints of similar nature like, refusal and misbehaviour and overcharging against any auto its permit will be cancelled," said Delhi transport commissioner RK Verma.
"They wanted an increase in the fare. That demand has been fulfilled. If they fail even now to fall in line they won't be spared," added Verma.

The transport department has already pressed into action 30 teams of enforcement department officials to educate people at railway stations and ISBTs and also check whether auto rickshaws are following rules or not.
"Notices will be sent to the auto against whom the complaint is either received or found violating law by enforcement teams. If the charges are proved, the permit will be cancelled after three violations," said Verma.

Another transport official who wished not to be identified said, "For the complaints that are received against a number, notices will be sent to the auto. Notices will also be sent to the complainant to prove that his case

was genuine.
