Continuing the White House tradition for the Thanksgiving holiday, US President yesterday ‘pardoned’ the National Thanksgiving Turkey at the White House in Washington DC.
The President, who was accompanied by his daughters Sasha and Malia, cracked a few jokes, as he embraced the slightly silly tradition of pardoning turkeys. He said, “I know some folks think this tradition is a little silly.
I do not disagree.” He also thanked his daughters for being good sports about standing at his side for the turkey pardon for a seventh year.
“Time flies, even if turkeys don’t,” he quipped to a crowd of laughter, as his daughters giggled heartily at a few ‘dad jokes’ in front of reporters and officials. Pics/AFP
