India’s Tintu Luka clocked her season’s bestu00a0timing of 1:59.69 seconds in the semi-finals of the 800m race at the London Olympics here last night but even that was not good enough to see her qualify for the final. Luka finished sixth in the second of three semi-final races last night.

Luka, who is coached by former India sprint queen PT Usha at the Usha School of Athletics in Calicut, has a personal best of 1:59.17 sec. However, even that would have not been good enough for her to make the final last night. South Africa’s controversial middle-distance runner Caster Semenya emerged as the fastest qualifier in the semi-finals clocking her season’s best of 1:57.67 seconds.u00a0
