About 110 students have already confirmed they will be part of the event, but the organisers are optimistic and say the numbers could go up to 200. Many institutes, including Seamedu, Pune Institute of Business Management (PIBM), Indus Buisness School (IIEBM), Balaji Institute of Management & Human Resource Development, will be participating in the event.
"We wanted to meet Shri Anna Hazare and take a pledge towards eradicating corruption from Pune and start the 'No to Bribe' campaign. It means no taking bribe or giving bribe. This has aroused the interest among students," said Devjeet Saha, one of the organisers. Most of the students will travel on their bike, while the rest have hired cars, he said.
Saha has been running around for the past one week to meet representatives of India Against Corruption (IAC) and planning with them the entire trip. "We have got confirmation that Hazare will meet us between 2 pm and 3.30 pm. The group from IAC has taken an appointment for us," said Saha.
During the one-and-a-half-hours meet, the students will take a pledge to keep out corruption and discuss various issues related to it. The students hope to have a long discussion with Hazare on corruption and ways to eradicate it. "We will also have lunch with Hazare before the meeting. Some of the students will make a film on the trip," said Saha.
