Toddler dies after falling in open drain

A two-and-half-year-old child died after he fell into an open drain in Wakad.

Yallappa Koli, who was missing since Monday night, was found dead in the drain yesterday morning.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Chandrakant Angule said that the child was playing outside the house when he fell into the drain. When he didn’t return home the entire night, his family approached the police.

“As the drain was brimming with silt, and the water was a foot deep, the child may have drowned,” said Angule. u00a0
