Tollywood actor Prabhas to play Pullela Gopichand onscreen?

Baahubali actor among the top contenders for former badminton player Pullela Gopichand’s biopic; former professional shuttler Sudheer Babu also in the race 

Tollywood actor Prabhas to play Pullela Gopichand onscreen?

With biopics on sportspersons turning out to be fruitful ventures, filmmakers continue to find their muse in the country’s players. The life of badminton player Pullela Gopichand, we hear, has caught the attention of a production house, which is vying for Baahubali actor Prabhas to play the leading man.

Fox Star Studios, in collaboration with Abundantia Entertainment, will present a film on the former Indian shuttler. The Hindi and Telugu bilingual will chronicle his life, on and off the court. A source says, "Prabhas is the biggest star the country currently has and the makers are keen to cast him.



Sudheer Babu

Given that the actor is currently filming Saaho [Sujeeth's actioner], he is yet to take a call on this outing." Another name on the list of contenders is Sudheer Babu, who is also a former professional badminton player. "There was a time when Sudheer ranked first in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. He has also played alongside Gopichand."


Pullela Gopichand

Currently being scripted, the film will role in mid-2018. An announcement on the cast can be expected soon.
