Like the French cinematic equivalent of 'Voltron', three of France's most well-known actresses are joining forces for a project that has us sold on name recognition alone. That the material is promising is a nice bonus.
Mélanie Laurent is best known for her role in 'Inglourious Basterds' (2009) while Bérénice Bejo earned praise for her work in 'The Past' (2013) and Audrey Tautou is of 'Amélie' (2001) fame. Pic/Getty Images
Mélanie Laurent, Audrey Tautou and Bérénice Bejo are all set to star in a film titled 'Eternity', an adaptation of the French novel L’élégance des Veuves by Alice Ferney.
The French filmmaker of Vietnamese ancestry, Tran Anh Hung, will be making his French language feature debut with the film. He’s adapting the book himself, with story centering “around the theme of motherhood and three women who face up to tragedy and unhappiness with dignity” with the tale spanning multiple generations of women across the 19th and 20th century.
