Au00a0dainty daze and desi digs fill up this new Noida eatery, far from the Delhi's chaos

The Commonwealth Games seem to be upping the capital's appetite like never before, with a large number of hotels, restaurants and hangout zones mushrooming by the dozen. Trance adds to the family, but we don't mind. This addition to the quiet, corporate Sector 62 in Noida doesn't disappoint. The credit goes to restaurateurs Aashish Bhayana and Sameer Puri, who hope the enchantment lasts much longer than the Games.

Enjoy a mushy mix of Indian and oriental cuisines, while the menu maintains a balance between the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. In starters, gorge on the kebabs like murg achari tikka and Lucknawi gilawat ke kebab. For vegetarians, it's the hara bhara kebab and bhatti ka paneer that we recommend. In main course, we inky-pinky-ponkied on chicken dhaniya adraki and gosht beli ram, which is a spicy lamb meat dish. Both worth their curry. In the vegetarian section, the restaurant offers handi ka ragra paneer, kaju ke malai kofte and the dal, cooked for 18 hours, they say. Likewise, the spice lasts long and strong. Seafood enthusiasts can savour Oriental delicaciesu00a0 like prawns with seasonal greens in oyster sauce, sliced fish fillet in black bean sauce, steamed fish nonya curry and much more. When it was time to get dessert-ed, we enjoyed the apple and banana toffee with ice cream, fried ice cream, matka kulfi and the famous Indian gulab jamun, served hot (no comments on capacity, please).

Drinks
The bar is alluring, with deep, dark colours. It serves special concoctions with a dash of spice, stirring up sensational creations for connoisseurs. Hardcore guzzlers can choose from premium varieties of beer, tequila, whisky, gin, rum, vodka -- you name it,u00a0 they have it. If you like it light, the cocktails -- coco jumbo, black Russian or regulars like bloody Mary, margaritas and mojitou00a0-- work well. Teetotalers can pick from electric blue, mango blast and black beauty, hideous-sounding yet soothing.

Ambience
The 95-cover restaurant has two private dining areas that are an ideal venue for corporate, kitty and birthday parties. They accommodate 25 people each. There's a wooden fence that guides you into the well-tucked interiors of the restaurant, as a lemony scent fills up your senses. As we entered the dimly-lit insides, we could easily spot a space in a corner -- it was more or less empty, being a weekday. The walls are adorned with antique masterpieces, and a Victorian clock adds to the bar's beauty. The walls are stonewashed, and the DJ's in-house trance leaves you stoned. A great for a pre-club tipple, or to impress your date or the business client.
The best thing: Never over-crowded.
