With winter round the corner, a drink by the bonfire and a barbeque is what all crave for. If you have not planned your trip yet, sign up for the trek to Dukes Nose — an 800 feet cliff at Khandala.

The precipice is pointed like a head portio (hood) of a snake; hence, it is also known as Nagphani. The trekking route is easy but adventurous. It may look inaccessible from a distance but there is a short route to reach the top from the southern side. The trekker will also have a @A>-degree view of Mumbai-Pune Highway, the rail corridors and the surrounding peaks. Food will be available at the base camp at the all-night char-grill. Apart from being within the cobra’s hood, there will be a visit to the small temple of Lord Shiva beside the hill. People travelling from Mumbai can take their own car or bike, commute by train or bus till Lonavala station. Vehicle from the station to the base camp would be arranged on prior request. The fee is inclusive of camping, barbeque, dinner, trekking, first aid, tea and breakfast on Sunday morning and expertise charges.

Entries will be accepted till November 23.
