Deepika Padukone apparently fell ill during the last leg of the promotional tour for her upcoming film 'Happy New Year'
Sources say that Deepika Padukone, who is back in India from an extensive US tour where she performed along with her co-stars to promote their latest film 'Happy New Year', fell ill during the last leg of the tour. The actress apparently came down with a throat infection and it got so bad that Deepika was not able to talk for a while.
Turns out that when the team visited Google and Twitter headquarters in San Jose, USA, Deepika found it very difficult to interact with the media. It may be pointed out that this US tour lasted more than two weeks, with the cast of Happy New Year kicking off their promotional tour on September 19 in Houston, Texas, before ehading to New Jersey, Washington DC, Chicago, Vancouver and San Jose.
Says a source, “After visiting a few cities, Deepika was down with sore throat. Things got worse towards the end of the tour as she had to battle the changing weather conditions even as they moved from one city to another. After a point, it was difficult for her to even speak. Deepika is now back in India with the rest of the star cast, but she is taking a few days off as she’s yet to recover completely.”
